Our philosophy

An homage to the past

The palace’s original wooden walls, ceiling beams and columns are exposed throughout the interior, creating a raw canvas for the owner’s selection of chic and contemporary furnishings.

A singular vision with a blend of influences

The historic structure has been rejuvenated under the creative eye of owner, Zaira Apostolaki. She worked in dialogue with the structure’s former use to reinvigorate the building as a design-focused haven that blurs past and present. Given the property’s significance as a prominent palace of the Venetian and Turkish periods, Zaira placed emphasis on respecting both the history of the structure and the architecture of the old town, by maintaining the aesthetics of the era and preserving the original construction materials.

Respecting tradition and showcasing luxury

Creating Aisha Hotel was a meticulous and lengthy journey. The process required sensitivity, not only with the physical transformation of the surroundings, but with the treatment of its heritage. The restoration involved an exploration of creativity to encapsulate the essence of the building’s Greek, Venetian, Turkish and Egyptian identity and influences. Attention was drawn to the use of light, textiles and colour so as to honour its history while bringing new life inside these walls.  Visitors can be transported back in time, while enjoying the contemporary luxuries of today.

Regard for aesthetics, comfort and warmth

A celebration of the past serves a dual purpose: it acknowledges the history of the building and landscape, while also highlighting the beauty in deciphering new stories, paths and memories within those four walls. The owner’s refined appreciation for design has resulted in seven thoughtfully decorated suites where guests can establish a sense of belonging, ease and curiosity. Comfort has been prioritised through natural materials, textures and hues, creating an environment that’s timeless, effortless and welcoming. Μany of the small objects found in the space have been curated from one-off antique collections.
